Says Hickman, "Fifteen years ago my wife encouraged me to follow the dream of becoming an artist and to devote my talents and energy to my art work. It is through my painting that I have finally realized true joy and fulfillment."

"I have been in show business since I was six years old but my true love has always been art and architecture. I have always loved the use of bright, vivid colors…their intensity gives such energy and life to the subject. When I paint a cobalt blue sky or a field of flowers in sprays of magenta, cadmium yellow, cobalt violet and alizarin crimson, the painting is so vibrant and passionate that the canvas seems to come alive.
